We successfully exited Louisiana and entered Texas. The rig seemed to drive fine but I noticed some issues that I thought should be examined by Freightliner. So we made a stop at a great spot called Gulf Coast RV resort in Beaumont, TX. It turned out that the Freightliner dealer was only a mile or so down the road. The campground was well kept and had all the amenities and a free Texas style breakfast thrown in. So things were looking up.
I checked in at the Freightliner shop early the next morning explaining my concerns and they agreed to look at the motorhome the same day, even though they were clearly busy with lots of work lined up. The short version of the inspection was that all mechanical items were fine and they adjusted the steering for me. They checked and serviced the coach and we were good to move on.
While spending the day mostly hanging around the campground in the reading library, we met a number of our fellow wanderers and had a good visit, sharing travel adventures and ideas for places to continue to explore.
