We decided to stay a second
day at the RV park and visited Pacific Beach which was getting ready for a
Pirate festival and very windy.
Also visited the Polson mansion in Hoquiam and had an interesting conversation with the lady in charge
about the poor economical state of the city. The home was built for the Polson
family in 1924 and had 26 rooms with six bedrooms and four fireplaces. Mr. Polson was involved in the logging business
and many of the displays reflect that involvement. They moved out in 1965. Polson’s widow donated the home to the city
in 1976. It is now restored and contains family and city history displays.
We enjoyed our time in the RV
park sitting by the river at happy hour.

Hoquiam and Aberdeen are both doubg poorly due to the lack of logging. The endangered spotted owl is partially responsible for the reduced amount of logging.
