Our first stop in touring the capital city was the
Montana State Museum, which offers an overview of the state’s history. For
those interested in detail, the museum has lots of material available in the
archives. We were looking for a quick
overview from the floor exhibits.
The guided tour of the capitol was well done. A complete history of the capitol can be seen
here.
On our way out of town, we stopped to visit the Helena Cathedral. It is a beautiful and well-maintained
structure. It is modeled after the Votivkirche in Vienna, Austria.

I really like our capital building. Did you get to take the tram tour? That's a great way to learn about the town.
No paddling down the river? That's cheating isn't it ;-)
