Today we
drove to Cape Flattery to hike to the farthest western point in the lower
forty-eight. The Cape and surrounding
lands are on the Makah Native Tribe reservation. When you enter the reservation, you must
obtain a pass to drive to the parking area to access the Cape Flattery trail
which is maintained by the tribe. Parts
of the trail are a bit rough and require care but the hike is well worth the amazing
views and the fact that you are at the most western point in the continental USA.
There is
also an impressive Makah Tribal museum in town that covers their history and
culture. Unfortunately, they do not
allow pictures, but it is well worth the time to see it.
We spent the
night at the Elwha Dam RV Park in Port Angeles, WA. Hooking up our power required some unusual
arrangements.

Congrats on your Rube Goldberg electrical hook up. I've had to do that a couple of times, too. Well worth the trouble. ;c)
