Do we fit in here?

We have extended our stay at the International RV Park in Daytona Beach, FL for at least a few extra days. There are still a couple of things we want to do here and since the campground accepts Passport America for an unlimited amount of days at this time of year, it is hard to beat. For $18 dollars a day, there are full hook ups with free WI-FI and cable.

It is a very nice place with friendly staff. The older section closer to the road is mostly grass spots and it is a bit tight. The newer section is all paved with lots of long and level sites.

Having said this, we wonder if we really can fit in here. We travel light and like the ability to get underway quickly and move on. Clearly, we are an oddity here.

The front area seems to be filled with seasonal folks and the back mostly with shorter term visitors. In both sections however, there does seem to be a theme. The park is largely populated by folks into heavy duty toys, notably with large engines. I guess this is not a surprise, as we are only a mile from the Daytona International Speedway. Between the auto races, bike week and the just completed Turkey Rod Rally this place is loaded with the scent of engine oil.

While there is the usual mix of RV’s here, there is a much larger group of heavy metal to be seen. Lots of 45 ft rigs and I have counted no less than 7 Prevost motorhomes here. Just yesterday two of these monsters pulled in and parked nearby. Both appear to be new. Very nice!

Frankly, I am not sure that I could deal with dragging around these huge trailers and misc equipment. In the front part of the park, there is almost no room to sit outside at the camp spots because of the trailers shoved between the RV’s. I guess it is all part of the fun.

Hopefully, we can enjoy our visit and not be lured into buying a trailer with a couple of hogs and all the tools that go with it.

Eek! That's a little too close for comfort for me. :) Maybe if you got a couple of tattoos, and wore a bandanna???

Well now, that is certainly a different kind of RV park. However, you sure can't beat that price. I'm definitely saving their website for a future visit to Daytona. It is a wild and crazy place, especially during bike week. Not sure about these days, but it used to be a high crime area.

The Passport America deal with the park is really something. Even though the park is a bit unusual, its sounds like a perfect spot to finish up your Daytona area touring.

Also, thanks for your comment and trying to help me out. We have also been looking at a Cradle Point router. Not sure yet what route we are going to take in the effort to improve our speed.

I know for sure we wouldn't fit in there with all those bikes and trailers. Kind of a unique RV park for sure.

It appears by the pictures that those people are serious about their TOYS! Where do those people store all that yard art when they travel?? That's just crazy! LOL

We would actually fit right in. We are thinking about getting another bike, and some of the people here still ride. It was always our favorite passtime.

Ha Ha! Thanks for the hilarious comment. You'd be hard pressed to find me in a skimpy outfit, but I just may try to catch a bullet in my teeth!! :)
