It has
become our practice after leaving the Winnebago Rally to head just south to the
town of Clear Lake. It is a busy summer
resort town centered on the namesake lake...Clear Lake. We always ask for a spot next to the laundry,
so we can easily complete this necessary chore after a 10 day or so dry camping
event. It is always a nice relaxing
time.
This year, shortly
after we set up, we received some uninvited and fairly pushy guests. These chickens
apparently have the run of the park and made themselves right at home. So our happy hour time was spent with those
new guests. To be clear, we decided not to have chicken for dinner.

Good choice! My Scandahoovian relatives used to go there. Looks like you made friends!
I can so relate to your situation. About a year after I sold my RV I lived in Fair Oaks, CA, a suburb of Sacramento. They have chickens all over the little "downtown" part of it, and of course roosters as well. I didn't mind the chickens stopping traffic to cross the road, but are you aware that roosters crow all night long?
🐔 for happy hour was plenty ... I would not have been able to have 🍗 for dinner after seeing them roaming around the site.
I like your plan for after the rally. I assume you had to make reservations and that the chickens are a new addition to the scene. Don't hand feed them, they don't mean to but the peck to take something out of your hand may well draw blood. Plus it gives them bad begging habits. Let us know about the rooster. We had chickens and a rooster and he didn't crow all night but was calling everyone to wake up at dawn with the first itty bitty bit of light.
So what was the chickens drink of choice at Happy Hour. You did share, right? :cD
