Buffalo Texas

Tuesday, we traveled the mostly two lane roads of central Texas from the Gulf of Mexico to Buffalo, Texas in some very gusty winds. Our goal was to visit the soon to be opened Holland Ranch campground. We arrived in the late afternoon and were given a warm welcome by the owners, Hans and Bianca. They recently have moved from the Netherlands to this Texas town to start a new adventure.

They have been very busy working on the campground project among other things and are very excited about opening an American campground with a Dutch flavor. They want to provide a relaxing rural setting for their guests. If all goes as planned they will be open for business in the very near future. You can follow their progress at www.hollandranch.com

There are also some vintage Air Stream trailers that have been outfitted in themes. We particularly enjoyed the Route 66. These are available for the non-RV owner to enjoy the country setting.

We enjoyed a very pleasant evening sharing stories about the places we have been over dinner. We also discussed camping issues late into the evening. This was another great example of why we travel by RV.

Oh yes, and the animals were a lot of fun, as well. 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 donkeys and more on the way.
