Before
crossing into Virginia for our View Rally in Cape Charles, we made a stop at
the site made famous by the Wright Brothers. Here they tested their airplane
design on the steep sandy dunes on the windy North Carolina coast. In the visitor center you can read about the
trials and success of the Wright Brothers and other early aviators.
If you have
any interest in aviation history this is a must-see location.
This was not
our first time here, we visited in 1990 in a Tioga Arrow motorhome.

We visited Kill Devil Hill a few years ago and almost blew away with the wind. It was easy to see why the Wright brothers choose that place to conduct their tests. We thought it was very well done the way things were displayed to tell the story of their first flight. You learned to fly on one of their planes, right? :cD
Visiting the area that the Wright Brothers made famous would be awesome!! Sounds like a great place to visit and not too far from us!!
Thanks for sharing!!
It is a fascinating place to visit.
