The Oasis of the Seas voyage was our second Royal Caribbean
Cruise line trip. It is inevitable that
making trips to the Caribbean will often
have repeat ports of call. This time there were two repeat stops. This was fine with us, as we were taking this
with a group and really enjoy being onboard the ship as much as the ports of
call.
Our first stop was Labadee, Haiti. This is a regular stop for RCCL cruises, as
they own the resort property that makes up this port of call. It is a beautiful area with beaches, water
sports and all kinds of activities to enjoy if you are so inclined or you can
just relax on the beach. We just enjoyed
the beach and some shopping at the onsite local crafts building. The crafts
area has some very interesting items.
Anneke wanted to get a few more of the mahogany wooden bowls that are
made locally. With the great weather, it was a very pleasant time ashore.
The other repeat port for us was Cozumel, Mexico. The last time we were in this huge touristy
area, we chose to take a full day tour on the mainland of the Tulum Mayan
Ruins. There is another ruins on the mainland I would
like to visit, however because of the
very high temperatures, we decided that a ten hour trip in a bus was not what
we wanted to do. So we took a very short
walk ashore and returned to the ship to enjoy the lack of crowds while most of
the passengers were ashore doing their thing.

we've never been on a cruise, but your posts and photos are tempting us... sure would be a nice break away from this cursed winter!
I love those bowls. Beautiful work.
The color of the water is gorgeous. Blue, blue, blue!
I don't blame you for not doing a 10 hour tour. WOW....I would be beat after that one.
Haven't been to Labadee, since we've not been on an RCCL cruise in a long while ... thanks for showing me what it's like. Cozumel is a favorite of our. Despite the cooler-than-usual temps last week, we really enjoyed our stop in Cozumel on NCL ... went to Nachi Cocom this time and has a really good beach day. We loved Tulum ... and if the other ruins you want to visit are at Chichen Itza, they are wonderful, but I don't think I'd be willing to do such a long drive to get to them.
now thats the way to escape the winter weather!!!
We love cruises. We've done quite a few on smaller ships. Not sure I'd want to do one on a big ship with all those people on it at the same time. Beautiful island.
Gee - a ten hour tour or a boat without a whole lot of folks on it? Not much of a choice in my book. LOL Georgeous beaches and water.
Your pictures of Labadee look beautiful! Love the colour and clearness of the water. Haiti is on our list of places to visit, hopefully we will make it there one day.

Wouldn't it be nice to be lolling on the beach there right now! (yes)
Have you gotten lost on that huge ship yet? :- )
That is a huge ship. I've only been on one cruise, to Alaska. It was fun but boy did I eat too much.
