Just south of Halifax is the small fishing village
of Peggy's Cove, which is famous for its lighthouse sitting on a prominent
rocky shore. It now has become a booming
tourist business centering on the lighthouse and the gift shops and restaurant
nearby. The lighthouse is said to be the
most photographed lighthouse in Canada. A nice place to spend a few hours.

Peggy's Cove is definitely a beautiful place to visit if you can do it when it isn't packed with tourists. It is also well known because of the downed aircraft Swissair Flight 111. There is a memorial site not very far down the road from Peggy's cove and another one on the other side of the bay to remember those that died on that flight. Peggy's Cove and the people there played and intricate role in helping with the search and with the relatives that were later flown in when they found the wreakage.
Wow, it's like you're shadowing the trip we took back in 2001. Peggy's Cove. The Cidadel, The cemetery containing those who drowned as a result of the sinking of the Titanic. Kind of fun to reminisce.
I love lighthouses, and this one is terrific! The setting is perfect. What an absolutely breath taking area.
Love your header picture. That's exactly how I pictured a fishing village.
I have to say again how much I love your header picture. I so appreciate these really great pictures of the cute town and the lovely lighthouse. It looks just like a lighthouse should out there on the rocks. Both are places we had hoped to go this summer. I wonder when it wouldn't be packed with tourists? In the winter? LOL
Your photos are great - this area reminds me so much of where I lived in Ireland for 3 yrs.

Peggy's Cove might be the most photographed lighthouse in Canada, due to the fact that it is close to Halifax, but it sure is not the prettiest. Cause the prettiest is Head Harbour Light Station on Campobello Island.
Peggy's Cove is quite the beautiful place, I've seen many pictures of it, but never in the winter. Do you want to take up the challenge? ;c)
So beautiful! I have always wanted to see Nova Scotia, and Peggy's Cove would definitely top my list of 'must-see'. :) I, like yourself, rarely eat out, I prefer to cook and eat at home. :) My favourite appliance is my crockpot! :)
Great photos of Peggy's Cove..thanks for sharing them!!
Sure looks pretty!!
