Unexpected encounters

My blog reading  list is fairly long and if I neglect it for a few days, I am sometimes overwhelmed by the number of unread blog posts that stare back at me when I go to Google reader.  In order to get the number down I take short cuts.  Last Monday was such a day and luckily I did not apply drastic measures to reduce the number.  I opened one of my favorite blogs and found that Erin and Mui were in Pensacola for a few days.  This is a very short drive from our house.  After making contact, we were able to meet them at one of the popular restaurants in town and enjoyed a great visit. When you meet fellow RV bloggers, you already know a bit about them and can skip all the normal meet and greet conversations.  They are great people and it was very enjoyable to talk with them about their plans to soon become full timers.  It brought back some of our excitement as we  prepared to do the same nearly six years ago now.  It was a fun time and look forward to meeting up with them again down the road.

The other surprise encounter came a few days earlier when our daughter and family were having dinner at our house.  As the meal was concluding our SIL looked out the window and said we had deer in the backyard.  Since we our property backs up to several hundred acres of   wooded land, I knew we had deer, bear and other less desirable creatures like  snakes nearby.  But so far, we had not actually seen much large wildlife.  This was Victoria's first sight of deer in the wild and she seemed to find it very interesting.  I am sure we will see more of them as time goes by.

It seems we see more deer these days than any other wildlife. A small timed feeder set up on the edge of your property could lead to many hours of entertainment watching lots of different species.

how great that you got to meet up with Erin and Mui!!..I, too understand about the large blog list if you have been off line for a few days..most of the time it is just too overwhelming, so I just read from that day forward and try not too look back too far..

Meeting fellow bloggers you respect and admire is always wonderful. If they are interesting and fun, then it is even better. Lucky you! Of course, Erin and Mui are on my short list of blogging folks I really hope to meet in person someday as well. Although I hope that when I get to meet Erin she has her big cameras with her so some of all that photo knowledge will rub off! Good luck with the deer, hopefully you aren't trying to grow anything they want to eat.

Just from reading Mui and Erin's blog, I can tell they are really nice people.
Every time Victoria looks out that window she will be looking for those cute deer. Glad you caught her on camera. Cute picture.

It was always a real treat when we would see deer on our property at the S/B.

Erin and Mui are great friends of ours, too. We enjoyed meeting them back in the old days before we hit the road full time and lived near them.

Looks like you are giving great business to our favorite Irish Pub in Pensacola (FIPIP). Maybe we need to buy some stock in them.

Really cute picture of Victoria watching the deer. Another priceless grandparent memory. :c)

You already know from our post that we share the sentiment ... it was great meeting you and Anneke. She mentioned the deer that came into your backyard ... so nice to see pictures of them. Here's to meeting up again when we come back through the area :-)
