Columbia Bay, Alaska

The wildlife in this area is almost completely overwhelmed by the  beauty of the bay and glaciers.  This post is all about sharing some of the spectacular scenery we enjoyed.  With the great weather and wind conditions, we did get  closer to the glacier than was possible in many trips out before us..  It is hard to describe or see in photos the scale of the area, but hopefully the pictures will provide some idea of why you should come and see it for yourselves!

I just loved watching the glaciers calve. Made me feel like I was in the middle of a National Geo movie!

Looks like you need an icebreaker where you are, I know where you can get a couple... ;c)

You have had such great luck with your tour and such fabulous pictures. We took a cruise to Alaska that took us right up to a calving Glacier. It was magnificient but sad too. I hate to see them melting. I just loved the blue color.

I think this is my favorite post of all the ones you have done since arriving in Alaska.

This area so absolutely stunning! Awesome photos.

Oh, I need no convincing. It's scenery like this that is the blame for our repeated trips to all places filled with glaciers and ice. Simply spectacular.
