A busy day in Yellowstone Park
Day three was our maximum effort to visit the major areas on the northern loop. We visited the mammoth Hot Springs, National Museum of the Ranger, Sheepeaters cliff, petrified tree, Tower Falls, and the Undine falls. Along the way we enjoyed the scenic views and one of my favorite parts of the park- the magnificent meadows found throughout the park.
At the Mammoth springs we encountered numerous Elk and paid attention to the many warnings to stay clear of them. Several folks ignored this warning and I admit to enjoying watching them scurry for cover when they got to close.
We have a few days left here but the weather forecast is not very promising, but we will at least have to make sure we see Old Faithful again.

I remember those Mammoth Hot Springs well. Was able to climb up to the top & see the many shallow pools of mineral water there. Truly loved Yellowstone when I traveled through that area back in May of 1992.
Great pics!! Thanks for sharing with us. :-)

Looks like you had a gorgeous day for that trip! :)
Your great shots remind me that I really have to spend more time in Yellowstone. It's so huge I feel like I have barely skimmed the surface.
Chuck and Anneke - Hi! Can we follow you? We love Yellowstone, visited many times. We are also partial to Grand Teton a little south of there. Good pictures, reminded us of the the wonderful times we spent at the park!
