Happy Birthday Oma

We are nearing the end of our visit with Heather and Ryan and looking forward to the warmer temperatures in south Florida. One of the major projects during our stay here has been to establish new primary care relationship with a local doctor. Staying with medical support in Ohio is not a viable long term solution. Part of that process has been breaking in a new family doctor. One of the big differences between me and Anneke is family history. Her family has by in large a long life history and she enjoys those genes. Our new doctor is suitable impressed by this history.

We are reminded of that history on January 13, as her mother celebrates her 87 birthday, along with her twin sister. Oma is also lucky enough to have her husband by her side. At the end of the month they will be married 61 years. Anneke’s father will turn 88 next month. They have lived through many exciting times, not the least of which was the invasion of the Netherlands by the Nazi’s in WWII, seeing Rotterdam being destroyed and suffering the many hardships that ensued.

They have lived a long and successful life and we wish Anneke’s mother a very Happy Birthday!
