Old Town Alabama

Old Town Alabama is located in the downtown area of Montgomery and  is a collection of restored 19th and 20th century building from  central Alabama that provide a visual history of how city, rural, rich and poor lived during these periods.  It is mostly a self guided tour with information for each of the structures and the era depicted.   The structures are divided into two sections-living and work.

Looks like a fun place to spend part of a day. I like seeing homes of people that lived so many years ago. We just finished seeing something similar in Bucharest that showed homes of people back around the same time period up to a few that were newer, say in the 1920's -40's. It's really an eye opener.

What a great tour. Amazing to see how folks used to live. And we live in an RV. Wonder what people will think of us in another 50 years.

Agreed, it looks like a great tour. We really enjoy these kind of museums. Haven't spent any time in Montgomery, but I think a nice cool day touring around is in our future! Thanks for the post.
