A very busy day

We had both Victoria and Nico for the whole day.  While we had done this many times, today still was hectic.  Nico has learned to walk and can cover quite some distance quickly, as long as he holds his arms up over his head.  He looks like he is walking a tightrope.  Very funny.  It also seems that Victoria is feeling a bit jealous again of Nico and the competition for attention is amazing.

The big factor is that we can hardly take our eyes off of them, since they can disappear in a flash.  Not to mention a jealous dog thrown in to the mix.

It was a lot of fun, but a day of rest will not be amiss:)

That's why we're parents when we're much younger. Then, we could chase them easier and weren't so tired afterwards.

You need eyes on the back of your head for kids that age.

They say grandchildren keep you young! I think that's wishful thinking :)

I keep telling my son that if he doesn't hurry up and have me a grandbaby I am going to be too old to be able to enjoy him/her. Doesn't seem to be working though.

I know the feeling and I only have one little guy to watch.

Love the photo of Nico adjusting the controls on your TV set!!

I cannot believe how big those two have gotten. Even though it is exhausting, enjoy them. By the time they are 13, which will happen about as fast as you can blink, they won't want to have anything to do with their old grandparents. ;-)

We've had our granddaughter for this whole week and I'll tell you we're certainly feeling a lot older! She's 12 but has a lot of issues relating to lack of oxygen before her very premature birth. She was 1 lb 14 oz when born and was totally deaf. She had a cochlear implant at 17 months and can hear fine now but her speech is still difficult to understand at times even though she still goes to a speech therapy regularly. She is more like a four year old and once in a while will take off on the run. Keeps us hopping anyway. She is our only grandchild. She keeps up a steady noise from the time she wakes up until she goes to sleep. I don't know where all that energy comes from, it tires me just watching.
