Shifting gears

While I work on our Alaska trip blogs, the truth is our minds and hearts are elsewhere. We are doing some mental pacing, as we await the arrival of our newest grandchild.  The baby can now arrive at anytime.  Fortunately, everything is moving along smoothly and we just need to have patience.

One of the first things on our agenda upon return from the cruise was having a baby shower at our home. This was also a chance to visit with our daughter, Katie, who flew in for the event and was the mastermind for the all important cake.

As we await this important event, I will continue to mentally pace and work on summarizing the rest of the cruise.

That cake is beautiful, looked like a fun shower. We just had our 1st grandchild this spring and the waiting is hard. Hope it arrives soon and healthy!

Great job on the cake. Looks like even the little girls got in on the shower action! Don't wear a hole in the carpet with your pacing...

A little boy on the way, how cool! Don't know who is more excited, you and Anneke or all the kids jumping on the bed... ;c)

Great looking cake!

Having been through the same waiting period just a little over a month ago, I think I know how you are feeling.

Patience they kept telling me!

Katie is indeed a marvel ... that cake looks just beautiful ... and I bet it tasted good, too. Here's hoping for a healthy baby soon.

Love the cake, far more patience than I have. And talented to boot. I'll bet it tasted great too.
